Art Description: The Avatar: Shadow Self is a spiritual concept, that we all have a shadow self, the subconscious mind, where we hold many programmed behaviors. This original art piece shows an Ethnic woman and the blue figure in background, the Avatar, is a representation of her own subconscious mind as depicted by the yellow lines emanating from her forehead and connecting to the third eye of the Avatar. As one becomes more "aware" consciously, the third eye awakens, giving that individual another dimension of intuition and sense. The box in the bottom with 4 quadrants is the representation of the subconscious mind which is a "box" (closed off) until one connects to the subconscious mind and opens the third eye.
